INSIDE / OUT — MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Inside/Out Teen Summit Weekend Experience is to empower young people through education, awareness, and personal growth. We strive to provide students with a rare, firsthand perspective of the justice system — helping them recognize the impact of their choices before those choices impact their freedom. Inside/Out is dedicated to: • Reducing juvenile involvement in the criminal justice system • Promoting accountability, emotional maturity, and critical thinking • Building respect for authority, community, and self • Strengthening leadership skills and responsible decision-making • Encouraging empathy by learning directly from those affected by incarceration By immersing students in a structured correctional facility environment and exposing them to real stories of consequence and redemption, Inside/Out bridges the gap between the life they have and the life they could lose. Our purpose is to help every student return home more focused, more grateful, and more determined — equipped to pursue success, stay in school, and avoid the path of incarceration. Inside/Out believes that prevention begins with perspective — and that when students understand the stakes, they make stronger decisions for their future.
